Zipper pencil case

Brighten up your school desk with these!
Final Result
Materials
• Minimum 12 zippers all same length in co-ordinating colours (25cm/30cm)
• Sewing machine with zipper foot
• Machine needle in size 12 or 14
• Polyester thread
• Optional - charms
Step 1
To sew zippers together

Start with one closed zip right side up, zip pull at the top, place a second closed zip on top right side down with the zip pull at the bottom and stitch together along one side.

Open out and add the next closed zip with the zip pull at the opposite end.

Continue sewing zips together with right sides facing and alternating the ends for the zip pull until all 12 zips are joined together.

Sew the 1st zip to the 12th zip.
Step 2
Make a pencil case

Choose the top of your pencil case and fold ?at at this point.

Undo the zippers at one end approximately 8cm.

Pin then sew together across the end of the pencil case making sure all the zips are sitting correctly.

When sewing, guide the machine carefully over the zipper teeth.

After sewing this end, close the zippers and repeat for the other end.

Trim off any excess seam.

Undo one zip fully and turn the pencil case right side out.
