Wombat placemat

Materials

• round wooden placemat
• paint - green, fawn, brown, black, white
• varnish
• pencil
• palette
• paintbrush

Step 1

Draw the wombat design onto the placemat using a pencil. With both light and dark green paint on your brush paint the background. Leave the paint to dry.

Step 2

With both fawn and brown paint on your brush paint the wombat. Use the brown paint for shadows and the nose.

Step 3

Paint the eyes and claws in black. Highlight the eyes and nostrils with white. Outline the wombat with black paint. Finish with a coat of varnish to protect your work.
