Square Bag Ribbon decorated papier mache box

Do wonderful things with papier mache.

Final Result

Materials

• Large square papier mache shopping bag
• Kaisercraft acrylic paint - white
• Folk Art Acrylic paint - #659 Metallic Pearl White
• Folk Art Acrylic paint - #688 Light Fuchsia
• Paint brush
• 10mm wide silver edged pink satin ribbon
• Assorted co-ordinating ribbons
• Craft glue/hot glue gun
• Scissors

Step 1

Cut off black ribbon handles from papier mache bag.

Step 2

Paint bag with white paint and allow to dry.

Step 3

Mix Metallic Pearl white paint with some Light Fuchsia paint until desired colour is obtained.

Paint bag with mixed colour pearl paint.

Allow to dry.

If desired, paint a second coat of mixed pearl paint to intensify colour.

Step 4

To make two handles, thread 10mm silver edged pink satin ribbon through the holes in the bag and knot ribbon on the inside of the bag to secure.

Step 5

Tie bows with co-ordinating ribbons and glue to the front of the bag, layering and adding bows until desired look is achieved.

Step 6

Place gift inside bag, loop narrow ribbon through handles and tie together in a bow.
