• 40cm Fabric 1 – Multi Spot yellow
• 40cm Fabric 2 – Multi Spot pink
• 40cm Fabric 3 – Paint Spot green
• 40cm Fabric 4 – Multi Spot green
• 50cm Fabric 5 – Multi Spot aqua
• 40cm Fabric 6 – Multi Zigzag red
• 20cm each of various other colour

• 50cm Rainbow Spots & Stripes fabric of choice for binding
• 1.5m x 1.6m fabric for backing
• 150cm x 160cm Sew Easy cotton/bamboo batting
• Matching Gutermann 100% cotton thread
• Rotary cutter, mat & quilters rulers
• Quilting pins, tape measure
• Scissors, seam ripper
• Hand needle
• Iron
• Sewing machine with 1/4” foot & walking foot
All fabrics should be 100% cotton, washed & pressed. 1/4” seam allowance used throughout unless otherwise indicated.
Read all instructions carefully before commencing the quilt. - Step 1
- Cutting
All strips are cut across the width of fabric unless otherwise stated.
• From fabric 1 cut 5 x 21 1/2” strips, crosscut into eight 21 1/2” x 61 1/2”
rectangle C; nine 21 1/2” x 101 1/2” rectangle D; three 21 1/2” x 41 1/2”
rectangle F.
• From fabric 2 cut 5 x 21 1/2” strips, crosscut into eight 21 1/2” x 61 1/2”
rectangle C; eight 21 1/2” x 101 1/2” rectangle D; three 21 1/2” x 41 1/2” rectangle F.
• From fabric 3 cut 5 x 21 1/2” strips, crosscut into eight 21 1/2” x 61 1/2” rectangle C; ten 21 1/2” x 101 1/2” rectangle D; four 21 1/2” x 41 1/2”
rectangle F.
• From fabric 4 cut 5 x 21 1/2” strips, crosscut into eight 21 1/2” x 61 1/2”
rectangle C; eight 21 1/2” x 101 1/2” rectangle D; four 21 1/2” x 41 1/2”
rectangle J; three 21 1/2” x 41 1/2” rectangle F.
• From fabric 5 cut – 3 x 21 1/2” strips, crosscut into eight 21 1/2” x 101 1/2”
rectangle E; and 2 x 41 1/2” strips, crosscut into five 41 1/2” x 101 1/2”
rectangle G; one 41 1/2” x 81 1/2” rectangle H; one 41 1/2” x 41 1/2” square I. • From fabric 6 cut 3 x 21 1/2” strips, crosscut into eight 21 1/2” x 101 1/2”
rectangle E; and 3 x 41 1/2” strips, crosscut into eight 41 1/2” x 41 1/2” square B; five 41 1/2” x 101 1/2” rectangle G; one 41 1/2” x 81 1/2” rectangle H; one 41 1/2” x 41 1/2” square I.
• From other 6-9 other different fabrics cut 21 1/2” strips and crosscut into 21 1/2” x 21 1/2” squares A, cut a total of 115 squares.
• From binding fabric cut 6 x 21 1/2” strips. - Step 2
- Blocks
1. Randomly sew 16 A squares to each other in pairs, diagram 1.
2. Sew each of these units to the top of each of the 8 B squares, diagram 2.
3. Sew 8 sets of 3 A squares, diagram 3.
4. Sew units from steps 2 and together to make Block 1, diagram 4.
Make 8 of Block 1. 
- Step 3
- 5. Take 12 random A squares and sew together in pairs then sew 3 pairs together to make two 6-patch units, diagram 5.
6. For Block 2, take the remaining 63 A squares and sew together in strips of 3, diagram 6 and then sew 3 rows of 3 together to make seven 9-patch blocks, diagram 7. 
- Step 4
- Sew 2 matching C rectangles to the sides of Block 1, diagram 8 and Block 2, diagram 9.

- Step 5
- 8. Sew the 2 matching D rectangles (same colours as used in step 7) to the top and bottom of these blocks, diagrams 10 & 11.
9. Sew J rectangles to top and bottom of the two 6-patch units, diagram 12, then sew matching (same fabric) D rectangle to one side only, diagram 13. 
- Step 6
- Quilt Top
10. Layout all blocks inserting sashing rectangles E, F, G, H and I squares as shown in diagram 14.
11. Sew blocks and sashing rectangles together in Rows 1, 3, 5 & 7 as shown in diagram 14.
12. Sew sashing strips together in Rows 2, 4 & 6 as shown in diagram 14.
13. Sew rows together to form quilt top.

- Quilting
5. Layer backing, batting and quilt top, baste together. Quilt as desired.
Binding
6. Join the 6 x 21 1/2” binding strips to make one long strip. Press in half lengthwise and bind, mitering corners. Attach a label or sign and date your quilt.
