Materials

MEASUREMENTS
Width (approx) 40cm
Length (excluding fringe) 160cm

• 3 x 'Moda Vera' Passion 100g 100% Acrylic balls (check the ball bands to ensure all yarn is from the same dye lot.)
• One pair 10mm (UK 000) knitting needles, or size needed to give correct tension.
• large crochet hook for fringing.
• wool needle.

Step 1

TENSION
8 sts and 13 rows to 10cm over patt,using 10mm needles
To work a tension square, using 10mm needles, cast on 13 sts.
Work 20 rows patt.
Cast off loosely.
Check your tension carefully.
If less sts use smaller needles, if more sts use bigger needles.

*** NOTE - This Stole has been worked on bigger needles and at a looser tension than normally recommended.
Use only the yarn specified.
Other yarns are likely to produce different results.
Quantities are approximate as they can vary between knitters.

Step 2

STOLE
Before commencing knitting, make fringe - wind yarn 48 times around a piece of cardboard 17cm long, then cut along one edge, put aside for fringing.

Using 10mm needles, cast on 33 sts very loosely.
Beg Patt -
1st row (wrong side) - Purl.
Work 2 rows garter st.
4th row (right side) - K1, * yfwd, sl 1, K1, psso, rep from * to end.
5th row - Purl.
Work 2 rows garter st.
8th row - K2, * yfwd, K2tog, rep from * to last st, K1.
Rows 1 to 8 incl form patt.
Cont in patt until work measures approx 157cm from beg, ending with a 5th row.
Work 2 rows garter st.
Cast off loosely.

Step 3

TO MAKE UP

DO NOT PRESS.
With right side facing and beg at side edge, using crochet hook and 3 strands of yarn previously cut, fold yarn in half and draw a loop through one end of stole, draw ends through the loop made and pull tightly to form knot.
Repeat 7 times along this end of stole spacing evenly across.
Repeat along remaining end of stole.
Trim fringe to approximately 15cm long.
Sew in ends.
