Papier Mache Decorations - Square frame box

Materials

• Small square papier mache frame box
• Adhesive rhinestones
• Patterned transparency sheets
• Kaisercraft acrylic paint - white
• Folk Art Acrylic paint - #659 Metallic Pearl White
• Folk Art Acrylic paint - #688 Light Fuchsia
• Paint brush
• Co-ordinating decorative ribbons in varying widths
• Hanging cord or narrow ribbon
• Scissors
• Craft knife
• Craft Glue

Step 1

Paint the frame lid, lid insert and base of square box with white paint.
Let dry.

Paint the frame lid and base of box with metallic pearl white paint.
Allow to dry.

Paint a second coat of mixed pearl paint to intensify colour if desired.

Mix Metallic Pearl white paint with a bit of Light Fuchsia paint until desired colour is obtained.

Paint frame insert with mixed pearl paint.
Allow to dry.

Step 2

Stick adhesive rhinestones around the top frame of the lid.

Further embellish with adhesive rhinestones.

Step 3

Cut transparency sheet to the same size as the frame insert.

Place over the top of insert and place into frame lid.

If desired, glue insert to the inside of the lid.

Stick adhesive rhinestones to the patterned transparency as desired.

Step 4

Make a small slit in the centre of the side at the top of the box base using the craft knife.

Thread cord or narrow ribbon through slit to make a hanging loop for the box.

Knot the cord/ribbon inside box to secure loop.

Place lid on box and if desired glue lid to box base.

Step 5

Using decorative ribbons tie bows and either glue or tie to the base of the hanging loop.
