Materials
•American Crafts Moda Bella scrapbook paper - minimal, sophisticated
• yellow weave cardstock
• scrap white cardstock
• pencil
• double-sided tape
• craft knife & cutting mat
• sharp scissors
• 2 coordinating brads
• 4 white eyelets & eyelet setting tool
• 24 gauge beading wire
• black gel pen
• large pin or needle
Step 1
Cut a piece from minimal paper 18cm wide x 30cm high. Insert 2 eyelets along each of the two shorter ends of paper, 5cm in from each side and 1cm from top/bottom edge.
Step 2
As per diagram (below), score and fold in along lines to create a bag shape. Along the centre 2 folds, cut in 2cm from each side stopping at the next fold. Fold these tabs behind the other sides and secure with double-sided tape to make final bag shape.
Step 3
Wrap wire around a pencil to make 2 spirals, one 7cm long and the other 4cm long. Slip spiral from pencil and straighten 1cm at each end. Stick the longer spiral 5cm in from left side of bag front, 1cm up from bottom edge and the second spiral 5cm in from right side, 1cm up from bottom edge.
Step 4
Cut 4 x 4cm long leaves from sophisticated paper. Gently fold each leaf in half and stick one side only to bag front on top of the bottom end of the spiral wires. From scrap white cardstock cut a small tag 6cm x 2cm. Cut off two corners and make a hole with large pin or needle. Write message in black gel pen allow to dry. Thread tag onto the top of longer wire spiral, winding it half way down so tag falls slightly onto top of leaves. Secure top of wire spirals to bag front with double-sided tape.
Step 5
From yellow weave cardstock, cut 2 flower shapes 5cm wide and 5cm high. Make a small slit in the middle of each flower, push through a brad and secure at back of flowers. Stick flower to card over the top of the wire spirals.
Step 6
Cut 8 x 3cm long leaves from sophisticated paper and using large pin or needle make a hole in the end of each leaf. To make handles, wrap wire around a pencil to make 2 x 18cm long spirals. Slip spiral from pencil and straighten 1.5cm at each end. Thread 2 x leaves onto the ends of each wire spiral. Thread each end of the wire spirals through the eyelets and twist wire around itself to secure.
