- • ‘Moda Vera’ WOOL/NYLON BLEND 50g balls as per size
• 1 pair 5.00mm knitting needles
• 1 pair 4.00mm knitting needles
• Stitch holders
• Row markers
• Scissors, yarn needle, tape measure - Step 1
- BACK
Using 4.00mm needles, cast on 78 (86, 94, 102) sts, work in 2 x 2 rib as follows.
Row 1 (RS): (K2, P2) to last 2 sts, K2.
Row 2 (WS): (P2, K2) to last 2 sts, P2.
Repeat last 2 rows, 5 more times, inc 6 sts evenly across last row 84 (92, 100, 108)
sts.
Change to 5.00mm needles and stocking stitch, cont until work measures 42 (43,
44, 45)cm from beg, ending with a purl row.
Place markers for Armholes.
Cont in stocking st until work measures 63 (65, 67, 69)cm from beg, ending with a
purl row. - Step 2
- Shape Shoulders
Cast off 7 (8, 8, 9) sts at beg of next 4 rows 56 (60, 68, 72) sts.
Cast off 8 (8, 9, 9) sts at beg of next 4 rows 24 (28, 32, 36) sts.
Place rem sts on stitch holder. - Step 3
- FRONT
Work same as for back until work measures 54 (56, 57, 59) cm from beg.
Shaping Left Neck
K37 (40, 44, 47) sts, turn.
Purl 1 row.
Dec 1 st at end (neck edge) of this and every alt row until 30 (32, 34, 36) sts rem.
Cont without shaping, until work measures same as for back to shoulder shaping,
ending with a purl row. - Step 4
- Shape Shoulders
*Cast off 7 (8, 8, 9) sts at beg of next row.
Purl 1 row.
Repeat from * once.
Cast off 8 (8, 9, 9) sts at beg of next row.
Purl 1 row.
Cast off rem 8 (8, 9, 9) sts.
Slip next 10 (12, 12, 14) sts onto a holder. - Step 5
- Shaping Right Neck
Rejoin yarn to rem 37 (40, 44, 47) sts, work 2 rows.
Dec 1 st at beg (neck edge) of this and every alt row until 34 sts rem.
Cont without shaping, until work measures same as for back to shoulder shaping,
ending with a knit row. - Step 6
- *Cast off 7 (8, 8, 9) sts at beg of next row.
Knit 1 row.
Repeat from * once.
Cast off 8 (8, 9, 9) sts at beg of the next row.
Knit 1 row.
Cast off rem 8 (8, 9, 9) sts. - Step 7
- SLEEVES – Make 2
Using 4mm needles, cast on 46 (46, 50, 50) sts, work in 2 x 2 rib as for back.
Work 12 rows, inc 10 (10, 12, 12) sts evenly across last row 56 (56, 62, 62) sts.
Change to 5.00mm needles, work 6 rows of stocking st.
Shaping
Inc 1 st at each end of this and foll 6th rows until there are 76 (80, 84, 88) sts.
Cont without shaping until work measures 48cm from beg, ending with a purl row.
Shape Top
Cast off 8 (8, 8, 9) sts at beg of next 8 rows 12 (16, 20, 16) sts.
Cast off rem sts. - Step 8
- NECK BAND
With right sides facing, pin and sew right shoulder using a back stitch.
Knit up 18 (19, 19, 20) sts, down left front neck, knit 10 (12, 12, 14) sts from
front neck holder, knit up 18 (19 19, 20) sts, along right front neck, knit 24 (28,
32, 36) sts from back neck holder 70 (78, 82, 90) sts.
Work 8 rows of 2 x 2 rib as for back.
Cast off loosely. - Step 9
- FINISHING.
With right sides facing pin and sew left shoulder including band. Sew sleeve tops to
back and front between markers. Sew sides and sleeve seams. Weave in loose ends. - Step 10
- BACK
Using 4.00mm needles, cast on 78 (86, 94, 102) sts, work in 2 x 2 rib as follows.
Row 1 (RS): (K2, P2) to last 2 sts, K2.
Row 2 (WS): (P2, K2) to last 2 sts, P2.
