8 ply yarn
3.75-4.0 mm hook

Step 1

Step 2

Follow instructions as per purchased pattern for mittens.

Step 3

Hat - use same stitches for hat rim as mitten cuffs but measure circumference of child's head and make to fit.

Attach main colour to top of hat rim, 2ch and evenly add htr stitches around.

Work even htr rounds for approx 6 rounds or more depending on size and shape of child's head, then gradually decrease stitches per round until you're left with a tiny opening. Finish off and secure ends.
