- Preparation
Using the tea bags make a strong brew in a bowl. This is to dye the fabric. Submerge fabric in tea and let soak for about ten minutes, rinse in cool water, dry and then iron.
If making more than one card, dye all the fabric at the same time.
Step 1
Cut red cardstock 15cm x 21cm then fold in half to form the card. - Step 2
- Tear the striped patterned fabric to fit the front of the card leaving a small cardstock border around all the edges.
Straight stitch in place using both coloured threads, no need to be straight or neat. - Step 3
- Trim an 8.5cm x 12.5cm piece of cream cardstock.
Smudge ink from the inkpad onto the edges of the cream card using the sponge.
Stitch in place in the same way as before using zigzag and straight stitch in both colours. - Step 4
- Tear a narrow strip from the spotted fabric then stitch in place towards the bottom of the cream card.
Glue the wooden word flourish in place. Attach bells and ribbon.
