Step 1

Use two pairs of round nose pliers or one pair of round and one pair of flat nose pliers to hold jump ring as shown.

Step 2

Open jump ring by twisting one set of pliers towards you and one away. This places less stress on the metal.

Step 3

Close jump ring by twisting with pliers back into original position.
