Materials

• Gütermann sewing thread natural &/white
• sewing machine
• optional - overlocker
• scissors
• pins, tape measure
• 60cm natural linen shirting
• 1.7m x 15mm white cluny lace
• 36cm x 36cm cushion insert

Step 1

From linen shirting cut a 52cm square (front) and two 52cm x 30cm rectangles (back). Neaten one 52cm edge of each rectangle by turning the edge under 1.5cm. Press and sew or overlock.

Step 2

With square front on a flat surface right side up, place one half of the back face down, hemmed edge in the centre. Repeat overlapping remaining back piece in the centre. Sew around all four edges, turn right side out and press.

Step 3

Starting along one side of the front and 6cm in from the edge, pin the lace along each side. With a straight stitch and white thread, stitch lace in place through both the front and back of the cover. Press and insert cushion.
