By Spotlight
- The word ‘bonbon’ stems from the French where ‘bon’ means good. While we might think of Christmas treats as bonbons, in the USA the term also refers to small blocks of icecream or cream cheese covered in chocolate.

- Materials
- • 1 pkt bonbon rolls
• 1 pkt bonbon snaps
• double-sided tape
• paper trimmer
• scissors
• novelties &/sweets to go inside bonbon
• Christmas fabric
• red & gold cord
• red & gold beads or colour to match fabric
• scissors
• optional - glitter glue
Insert bonbon snap through middle of the roll and fill with novelties, sweets, etc. - Step 1
- Cut a piece of Christmas fabric 30cm x 15cm. Fray across both short ends. Stick an 8cm piece of double-sided tape in the centre along the edge of one 30cm side.
Remove the paper backing and press a filled bonbon roll onto the tape.
Wrap firmly making sure the snap and bag of goodies stay inside the roll and secure with double-sided tape where edges overlap.
Cut 2 x 20cm lengths each of red and gold cord. Knot together one of each. Thread 5 gold beads onto the end of the red cord and knot the end to prevent them falling off. Thread 5 red beads onto the gold cord and knot the end. Repeat with the other 2 lengths.
Gather each end and tie with red/gold beaded cord. For some sparkle add some glitter glue if desired. - Handy Hint
- It is a good idea to place the sweets & novelties into a small cellophane bag before placing them inside the bonbon roll.
- Handy Hint
- If you fill bonbons with treats applicable to the recipient, write the names on a tag and add when tying the ends.
