- Materials
- Approx size: 8cm diameter x 5cm high
• 1 x 100g ball ‘Moda Vera’ Marvel 8ply Main Colour (M) - chocolate
• 1 x 100g ball ‘Moda Vera’ Marvel 8ply 1st Contrast (C1) - white
• 1 x 100g ball ‘Moda Vera’ Marvel 8ply 2nd Contrast (C2) - green
• 1 x 100g ball ‘Moda Vera’ Marvel 8ply 3rd Contrast (C3) - red
• 4.00mm & 3.50mm crochet hooks or size needed to give correct tension
• Scissors
• Yarn needle
• Tape measure
• Hobby fill - Step 1
- TENSION
19 sts x 23 rows to 10cm over dc fabric, using 4.00mm hook.
To work a tension square, using 4.00mm hook, make 29ch. Work 34 rows dc.
Fasten off.
Check your tension carefully. If less sts to 10cm use a smaller hook, if more sts use a bigger hook.
Note: Use only the yarn specified.
Other yarns are likely to produce different results.
Quantites are approximate as they can vary between crochet workers.
BASE (make 6)
Using 4.00mm hook and M, make 2ch.
1st Rnd: Miss 1ch, 6dc in next ch, sl st in first dc.
2nd Rnd: 1ch, 2dc in same place as sl st, 2dc in each dc to end, sl st in first dc... 12 dc.
3rd Rnd: 1ch, 2dc in same place as sl st, 1dc in next dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in next dc, rep from * to end, sl st in first dc... 18 dc.
4th Rnd: 1ch, 2dc in same place as sl st, 1dc in each of next 2 dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of next 2 dc, rep from * to end, sl st in first dc... 24
dc.
5th Rnd: As 4th rnd... 32 dc.
6th Rnd: 1ch, 2dc in same place as sl st, 1dc in each of next 3 dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of next 3 dc, rep from * to end, sl st in first dc... 40 dc.
7th Rnd: 1ch, 1dc in same place as sl st, 1dc in each dc to end, sl st in first dc. **
Rep last round 7 times.
Fasten off. - Step 2
- TOP
Using C1, work as for Base to **.
Rep last round twice.
Do not fasten off.
Place top on base. Using C1, work 1 round dc evenly around pudding working through sts on both base and top together leaving an opening of approx 3cm for filling.
Fill base with polyester stuffing, close with dc (as before), sl st in 1st dc.
Next Rnd: Sl st in each dc to end.
Fasten off. - Step 3
- HOLLY LEAVES (make 3 for each pudding)
Using 3.50mm hook and C2, make a loose base ch.
Next Row: * 3ch, 1tr into base ch, 3ch, sl st into base ch, 3ch, sl st into base ch, rep from * twice.
Fasten off, leaving a long end for attaching to pudding. - Step 4
- HOLLY BERRIES (make 2 for each pudding)
Using 3.50mm hook and C3, make 3ch.
1st Row: Miss 2 ch, 2htr in last ch, sl st in 2nd ch at beg to form bobble.
