Final Result
Materials
• 'Panda Helix' 8ply 50gm balls as per size
• 1 pair 4.00mm knitting needles or size needed to give correct tension
• Set of 4 double-pointed 4.00mm knitting needles
• Cable needle
• 4 x Stitch holders
• Scissors
• Yarn needle
• Tape measure
Step 1
TENSION
28 sts x 30 rows to 10cm over cable patt (slightly stretched), using 4.00mm needles.
To work a tension square, using 4.00mm needles, cast on 40 sts.
Work 44 rows patt as for Size 2 of Sleeves. Cast off loosely.

Check your tension carefully. If less sts use smaller needles, if more sts use bigger needles.

BACK AND FRONT ALIKE
Using a pair of 4.00mm needles, cast on 86 (92-98-104) sts.
Beg Cable Patt
1st row: K0 (2-0-1), P2 (3-1-3), (K4, P3) 4 (4-5-5) times, K8, P3, K4, P3, K8, (P3, K4) 4 (4-5-5) times, P2 (3-1-3), K0 (2-0-1).
2nd row: P0 (2-0-1), K2 (3-1-3), (P4, K3) 4 (4-5-5) times, P8, K3, P4, K3, P8, (K3, P4) 4 (4-5-5) times, K2 (3-1-3), P0 (2-0-1).
3rd row: As 1st row.
4th row: As 2nd row.
5th row: K0 (2-0-1), P2 (3-1-3), (K4, P3) 4 (4-5-5) times, C8F, P3, K4, P3, C8F, (P3, K4) 4 (4-5-5) times, P2 (3-1-3), K0 (2-0-1).
6th row: As 2nd row.
7th row: As 1st row.
8th row: As 2nd row.
Rows 1 to 8 incl form patt.
Cont in patt until work measures approx 26 (29-32-35)cm from beg, ending with a 6th (2nd-8th-6th) patt row.
Step 2
Shape Raglan Armholes
Keeping patt correct, cast off 3 sts at beg of next 2 rows... 80 (86-92-98) sts.
Dec one st at each end of next 3 rows.
Work 1 row.
Rep last 4 rows 3 (4-5-7) times... 56(56-56-50) sts.
Dec one st at each end of next row, then in every foll alt row until 32 (32-34-34) sts rem.
Work 1 row, ending with an 8th patt row.
Leave rem 32 (32-34-34) sts on a stitch-holder.
Step 3
SLEEVES
Using a pair of 4.00mm needles, cast on 40 (42-44-46) sts.

Beg Patt
1st row: K0 (0-1-2), P2 (3-3-3), (K4, P3) twice, K8, (P3, K4) twice, P2 (3-3-3), K0 (0-1-2).
2nd row: P0 (0-1-2), K2 (3-3-3), (P4, K3) twice, P8, (K3, P4) twice, K2 (3-3-3), P0 (0-1-2).
3rd row: As 1st row.
4th row: As 2nd row.
5th row: K0 (0-1-2), P2 (3-3-3), (K4, P3) twice, C8F, (P3, K4) twice, P2 (3-3-3), K0 (0-1-2).
6th row: As 2nd row.
7th row: As 1st row.
8th row: As 2nd row.
Rows 1 to 8 incl form patt for sleeves.
Cont in patt and working extra sts into side patt, inc one st at each end of next row, then in every foll 4th row until there are 66 (68-68-70) sts, then in every foll 6th row until there are 68 (74-80-86) sts.
Cont in patt until work measures approx 23 (28-33-38) cm from beg, ending with a 6th (2nd-8th-6th) patt row.
Step 4
Shape Raglan
Keeping patt correct, cast off 3 sts at beg of next 2 rows... 62 (68-74-80) sts.
Dec one st at each end of next 3 rows.
Work 1 row.
Rep last 4 rows 3 (4-5-7) times... 38(38-38-32) sts.
Dec one st at each end of next row, then in every foll row until 14 (14-16-16) sts rem.
Work 1 row, ending with an 8th patt row.
Leave rem 14 (14-16-16) sts on a stitch-holder.
Step 5
NECKBAND
Join raglan seams, noting that tops of sleeves form part of neckline.
With right side facing, using a set of 4.00mm double-pointed needles and beg at left back raglan seam, work across sts from stitch-holders as folls (beg with left sleeve) - P2tog, P1 (1-2-2), K8, P1 (1-2-2), (P2tog) twice, P1 (1-2-2), K8, P3, K4, P3, K8, P1 (1-2-2), (P2tog) twice, P1 (1-2-2), K8, P1 (1-2-2), (P2tog) twice, P1 (1-2-2), K8, P3, K4, P3, K8, P1 (1-2-2), P2tog... 84 (84-92-92) sts.

1st round: P2 (2-3-3), K8, P4 (4-6-6), K8, P3, K4, P3, K8, P4 (4-6-6), K8, P4 (4-6-6), K8, P3, K4, P3, K8, P2 (2-3-3).
2nd and 3rd rounds: As 1st round.
4th round: P2 (2-3-3), C8F, P4 (4-6-6), C8F, P3, K4, P3, C8F, P4 (4-6-6), C8F, P4 (4-6-6), C8F, P3, K4, P3, C8F, P2 (2-3-3).
5th, 6th, 7th and 8th rounds: As 1st round.
Rep last 8 rounds until neckband measures approx 6 (6-8-8) cm from beg ending with an 8th patt round.
Cast off loosely in patt.
Step 6
TO MAKE UP
Join side and sleeve seams.

Use only the yarn specified. Other yarns are likely to produce different results. Quantities are approximate as they can vary between knitters. Check the ball bands to ensure all yarn is from the same dye lot.
