Materials

• ‘Moda Vera’ Aldora 50g balls as per size
• 1 pair 9.00mm Knitting Needles
• Stitch holders
• Scissors, Yarn Needle, Tape Measure

Step 1

Tension
12 sts x 13 rows to 10cm over stocking st using 9.00mm needles.

BACK
Cast on 40 (44, 48) sts, work 5 rows of garter st, first row is WS.
Change to stocking st, work 4 rows.

Shaping
Dec each end of this row then foll 4th rows once, 36 (40, 44) sts.
Work 1 row.
Ribbed Back panels: K11 (13,15), P1, K1, P1, K8, P1, K1, P1, K to end.
Next Row: Purl all purl sts, knit all knit sts.
Keeping Ribbed Back Panels correct dec 1 st at each end of this and foll 4th row, 3 more times, 28 (32, 36) sts.
Work 5 rows.
Inc 1 st at each end of this and foll 6th rows once, 32 (36, 40) sts.
Cont without shaping until work measures 33 (34, 35)cm ending with a WS row (last row of ribbed panels).

Armhole Shaping
Row 1: K1, K1, sl 1 K1, psso, K to last 3 sts, sl 1, K2tog, K1. 30(34, 38) sts.
Row 2: Purl.
Cont dec as established on this and foll 4th rows until 24 (28, 32) sts rem.
Cont without shaping until work measures 42 (44, 46)cm from beg.

Shape Shoulders
Cast off 6 (7, 8) sts at beg of next 2 rows.
Place rem 12 (14, 16) sts on a stitch holder.

Step 2

FRONT POCKETS - Make 2
Cast on 9 sts, work 11 rows of stocking st.
Cut yarn and place sts on a stitch holder.

Step 3

LEFT FRONT
Cast on 22(24, 26) sts.

Side and Bottom Band
Row 1(WS): (K1, P1) twice, K to end.
Row 2(RS): K to last 5 sts, (P1, K1) twice, P1.
Repeat last 2 rows, once then Row 1 once more.

Body
Row 1: K to last 5 sts, (P1, K1) twice, P1.
Row 2: (K1, P1) twice, K1, P to end.
Repeat last 2 rows, once.

Shaping
Keeping ribbed band correct, dec 1 st at beg of this row then foll 4th rows twice, 19 (21, 23) sts.
Work 1 row.

Ribbed Pocket Band: K4 (6, 8), (P1, K1) to end.
Next Row: Purl all purl sts, knit all knit sts.

Keeping Ribbed Pocket Band correct, dec 1 st at beg of this row.
18(20, 22) sts.
Next Row: Purl all purl sts, knit all knit sts.

Shape Neck
K to last 5 (6, 7) sts, turn.
Purl.
Cont working on these 9 (10, 11) sts only.
Dec 1 st at neck edge on every row, 3 times.
Purl 1 row.
Place rem 6 (7, 8) sts on stitch holder.

Step 4

RIGHT FRONT
Cast on 22(24, 26) sts.

Side and Bottom Band
Row 1(WS): K to last 4 sts (P1, K1) twice.
Row 2(RS): (P1, K1) twice, P1, K to end.
Repeat last 2 rows, once then Row 1 once more.

Step 5

BODY
Row 1: (P1, K1) twice, P1, K to end.
Row 2: P to last 5 sts, (K1, P1) twice, K1.
Repeat last 2 rows once.

Shaping
Keeping ribbed band correct, dec 1 st at end of this row then foll 4th rows twice, 19 (21, 23) sts.

Armhole Shaping
Row 1: K to last 3 sts, K2tog, K1.
Row 2: Purl.
Cont dec as established on this then foll 4th rows until 14 (16, 18) sts rem.
Cont without shaping until work is 6 rows less than the back.

Shape Neck
Slip first 5 (6, 7) sts, knit to end, turn.
Work on these 9 (10, 11) sts only.
Purl.
Dec 1 st at neck edge on every row, 3 times.
Purl 1 row.
Place rem 6 (7, 8) sts on stitch holder.

Step 6

SLEEVES - Make 2
Cast on 20 (22, 24) sts, work 15 rows of garter st.

First row is WS.
Change to stocking st, work 4 rows.

Shaping
Inc 1 st at each end of this and foll 6th row once, 24 (26, 28) sts.
Cont without shaping until work measures 20(22, 24)cm from beg.

Armhole Shaping
Row 1: K1, sl 1, K1, psso, K to last 3 sts, K2tog, K1.
Row 2: Purl.
Cont dec as established on this and foll alt rows until 10 (12, 12) sts rem.
Work 1 row.
Cast off.

Step 7

COLLAR

With right sides facing pin and sew shoulder seams together.

Beg at right front stitch holder, K1, P1, K2tog twice, knit up 7 (8, 9) sts along front neck, knit 12 (14, 16) sts off back neck stitch holder, knit up 7, 8, 9) sts down left front, work (K2tog twice, P1, K1) sts from left front stitch holder, 34 (38,42) sts.

Row 1: P1, K1, (P2, K2) to last 4 sts, P2, K1, P1.
Row 2: Purl all purl sts, knit all knit sts.
Repeat last 2 rows, 13 more times.
Cast off loosely in rib.

Step 8

BACK BELT
Cast on 13 sts, knit 10 rows.
Cast off.

Step 9

FINISHING

Pin and sew side and sleeve seams, set in sleeves.
Pin and oversew pockets in place.
Pin belt in the centre of the back, half way up the ribbed panel, sew in place.
Weave in loose ends.

Note:
As knit is loose, buttonholes should not be necessary.
If buttonholes are needed, decide on placement and work Buttonhole row [P1, K1, YFW, K1, P1, K to end] up right front band.
When complete determine position and sew buttons in place on left front band.
