Materials
• A4 green cardstock
• A4 light orange cardstock
• clear embossing ink
• clear embossing powder
• focal stamp with large design
• large background stamp with delicate detail
• Distress Ink in Spiced Marmalade, Black Soot, Vintage Photo
• glitter pen
• foam ink applicator
• paper trimmer
• adhesive
• embossing heat gun
• iron
• newsprint
Step 1
Using the feature stamp and clear embossing ink, stamp the design on a sheet of orange cardstock 12cm x 9.5cm in size. Dust the stamped image with clear embossing powder and heat set.
Step 2
Tear a strip of scrap cardstock and place it over the stamped design. Using a foam applicator with Spiced Marmalade ink, rub ink onto the card making it heavier near the torn edge and lighter further away from it. Move the torn edge further up the card and repeat. Continue until the card is covered in ink. Finish by adding additional ink around the outside edge of the embossed image so its edges are well defined.
Step 3
Ink the large background stamp with Vintage Photo ink and press onto the inked cardstock covering it completely. Use a paper towel to remove the ink where it has been applied over the embossed image.
Step 4
Using a foam applicator with Vintage Photo and Black Soot inks rub ink around the edges of the paper. Cover the design with a sheet of newsprint and iron with a hot iron until the embossing powder melts into the newsprint.
Step 5
Using the glitter pen, draw over details on the background stamped design to highlight them. Trim a second sheet of orange cardstock 12.5cm x 10cm and ink its edges. Trim a sheet of green cardstock 13cm x 21cm and fold in two to make a card. Affix the stamped design to the orange card and attach both to the folded green card.
Handy Hint
The best stamp to use for a focal image is one that is very flat and which does not have a lot of fine detail. If your stamp has too much detail this will be lost when used with this process.

This process of stamping over an image embossed with clear embossing powder is a resist process and you can adapt it to many of your stamping projects.
