Mobile fish

Final Result

Materials

• 5 felt squares - colours of choice
• gold pearl thread
• pencil
• scissors
• safety pin
• hand needle
• hobby fill
• 2 x pop sticks

Step 1

Trace the pattern. Use the pattern to cut out two of fish shapes. To keep both pieces together while you sew them, pin a safety pin through both layers of felt.

Step 2

Using your needle and thread sew both pieces together, leaving a 5cm opening in one side. Add small amounts of hobby fill until the fish is a nice firm shape then sew up the hole. Repeat steps 1 & 2 for the other four fish.

Step 3

Make small holes in the centre and at each end of both of the pop sticks with the needle. Place one pop stick over the other to form a cross. Sew a thread through the top of each fish and use the thread to attach one fish to each corner of the pop stick cross. Attach the last fish to the centre of the cross. Make a thread loop at the top of the cross to hang the mobile.
