- • 50g balls 'Moda Vera' Cupcake - 1x main colour, 1 ea of 4 colours
• 5.50mm crochet hook
• scissors, yarn needle - Step 1
- Make 1 small square in each colour including main colour (any mixture of styles).
Sew together to form a ring.
** Crown:
Rnd 1: Using main colour work 65 dc around one side of band,(crown is worked in a continuous spiral, mark start of round with stitch marker).
Rnd 2: Dec over next 2 sts, dc in next 11 sts, rep 4 times.
Rnd 3, 5 & 7 : Work 1 dc in each dc.
Rnd 4: Dec over next 2 sts, dc in next 10 sts, rep 4 times.
Rnd 6: Dec over next 2 sts, dc in next 9 sts, rep 4 times.
Rnd 8: Dec over next 2 sts, dc in next 8 sts, rep 4 times.
Rnd 9: Dec over next 2 sts, dc in next 7 sts, rep 4 times.
Rnd 10: Dec over next 2 sts, dc in next 6 sts, rep 4 times.
Rnd 11: Dec over next 2 sts, dc in next 5 sts, rep 4 times.
Rnd 12: Dec over next 2 sts, dc in next 4 sts, rep 4 times.
Rnd 13: Dec over next 2 sts, dc in next 3 sts, rep 4 times.
Rnd 14: Dec over next 2 sts, dc in next 2 sts, rep 4 times.
Rnd 15: Dec over next 2 sts, dc in next 1 sts, rep 4 times.
Rnd 16: Dec over next 2 sts, rep 4 times.
To finish off, thread tail through last 2 sts, pull tightly to close up gap and sew in the ends.
Brim: Using main colour, work 5 rows of dc around bottom edge of hat. Fasten off and sew in ends. - Abbreviation
