Step 1

Body
Foundation row: Make 56ch, join with sl st to 1st ch to form ring.
Rnd 1: 1ch, 1dc in same st as sl st, 1dc in ea st to end, sl st to 1st dc (56 dc).
Rnd 2-3: 1ch, 1dc in same st as sl st, 1dc in ea st to end, sl st to 1st dc (56 dc).
Rnd 4: 1ch, 1dc in same st as sl st, *(5ch, miss 3 dc, 1dc in next st,) rep from * to end, sl st to 1st dc (56 dc).
Rnd 5: Sl st to 1st 3-ch loop, 8ch (counts as 1st tr & 5-ch sp), 1dc in same loop, *1ch, (1tr, 5ch, 1tr) in next loop, rep from * to end, 1ch, join with sl st to 3rd ch of beg 8-ch.

Sleeves

Rnd 2: (3ch, picot, 1tr, 3ch, 1tr, picot, 1tr,) in same ch loop, (3ch, 1tr, picot, 1tr, 3ch) in next 4-ch loop, *6ch, miss next dc, (1dc, 3ch, 1dc) in next dc, 6ch, miss next dc & 5-ch loop, (1tr, picot, 1tr, 3ch) in next 3-ch loop,** (1tr, picot, 1tr, 3ch) 3 times in next 3-ch loop, (1tr, picot, 1tr,) in next 3-ch loop, rep from * around, ending last rep at **, (1tr, picot, 1tr, 3ch) twice in same loop as beg ch, join with sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch. Decreasing: (4ch, 1dc in 4-ch loop, 4ch, miss 1 dc, 1dc in ea
of next 11 dc) rep to end of rnd.
note: You are ending on the last triangle of the rnd not at beg of the first. (4ch, 1dc in 4-ch loop, 4ch, 1dc in next 4-ch loop, 4ch, miss 1 dc, 1dc in ea of next 10 dc) rep to end of rnd.

Rep as established in pattern: inc the number of 4-ch loops by 1 and dec the number of dc by 1 in ea rnd until there is only 1 dc in the peak of each
diamond shape.

Last round: Work (4ch and 1dc in ea 4-ch loop to last loop before the tip of the diamond, 1dc into that 4-ch loop, 1dc in the next 4-ch loop) rep to last loop before the 1st diamond, 1dc in that loop, 4 ch, sl st to sp between 2 dc. Fasten off.

Step 3

Neck
Work 1 row of dc around the opening, (1dc in ea dc, 3dc in ea 4-ch sp). Work another rnd of dc in ea dc of the last rnd. Sl st to the 1st dc and fasten off.
Sew in all loose ends.

Step 4

To embellish, work a round of shells, (1tr, 1ch, 1tr, 1ch, 1tr) in ea dc, anchoring them with a dc into the next 4-ch loop, then if desired add a rnd of 1dc, 1ch, to finish it off.
