Materials

• Aida cloth
• tapestry wool - green, yellow, orange, light blue, mauve & violet
• scissors
• tapestry needle

Step 1

Cut a piece of Aida cloth 15cm x 4.5cm. Thread your needle with green wool and sew the flower stem in running stitch. Sew on a leaf using three lazy daisy stitches.

Step 2

With yellow wool sew each flower petal in a lazy daisy stitch. Continue sewing petals until they form a circle.

Step 3

Using orange wool make French knots to form the centre of the flower.

Make a butterfly using a lazy daisy stitch for the body and wings and a French knot for the head.
