- Materials
- • canvas board
• Kaiser fozz felt border
• gesso
• Kaiser paint - raw umber, winter blue, lime
• Kaiser clear sealer
• Jo Sonja paint - nimbus grey
• kindy glitz
• watercolour paper (torn from pad)
• scrapbook paper
• chipboard letters
• zig glue
• silver leaf
• paint brushes
• scissors
• double-sided tape
• mounting squares
• palette knife - Step 1
- Peel the backing from the fozz felt border and attach to the left hand side of the canvas with a little overhang at the top and bottom. Do not stick it down too firmly as it will need to be removed.
Cover the felt with a generous layer of gesso using the palette knife and remove the felt almost straight away. Set canvas aside to dry, overnight is best. - Step 2
- When the gesso has dried apply a coat of winter blue paint and allow to dry. Clean the excess paint from the brush onto the top and sides of the watercolour paper in a random fashion. When the blue has dried, paint some lime paint over the gesso area just catching the peaks with the paint. Again clean the excess paint from the brush in the same way onto the watercolour paper.
When the paint has dried add some detail with the raw umber paint and a fine paint brush, add the excess paint to the watercolour paper as before.
Apply some zig glue at the top of the right hand side of the canvas, allow it to go tacky then apply the silver leaf.
Tear around the edges of the scrapbook paper, not the bottom edge, and apply the zig glue to the right edge and when the glue has gone tacky apply silver leaf. - Step 3
- Mount the scrapbook paper onto the watercolour paper and then mount onto the canvas using the double-sided tape. Paint the letters with the nimbus grey paint and use lime paint around the edges. Set aside to dry.
Mount the photo in place with the double-sided tape. Attach the letters with mounting squares then using the kindy glitz outline the letters and allow to dry.
