Materials

• ‘Moda Vera’ Ballroom 50g balls as per size
• 1 pair 4mm knitting needles
• 1 pair 5mm knitting needles
• 1 x 4mm circular needle
• stitch markers
• yarn needle, scissors, tape measure

Step 1

Instructions
Note: Garment is knitted in piece cuff to cuff. Girl’s sizes in [ ], Women’s sizes in { }.

Step 2

Right cuff
Using 4mm needles cast on [60, 67, 67, 74], {81, 81, 88, 88} sts.

Row 1: (K4, P3) to last 4 sts, K4.
Row 2: (P4, K3) to last 4 sts, P4. Cont to work in 4 x 3 rib as established for [17, 19, 23, 25], {29, 29, 33, 33} rows.

Dec in pattern as follows: (P3, P2tog, K2) to last 4 sts, P4 [52, 58, 58, 64], {70, 70, 76, 76} sts.

Step 3

Right sleeve
Change to 5mm needles and stocking st, dec further: K2tog, K3 (K2tog, K4) to last 3 sts, K3 [43, 48, 48, 53], {58, 58, 63, 63} sts. Purl one row. Cont in stocking st inc ea end of every [10, 10, 8, 8], {8, 8, 6, 6} rows until there are [54, 60, 66, 72], {78, 84, 90, 96] sts. Cont without shaping until work measures [39, 42, 46, 50], {54, 54, 54, 54}cm from beg.

*Place marker at each end of last row noting how many rows were knitted above last decrease.*

Step 4

Back shaping
Cast off 4 sts at beg of this and foll alt rows [2, 5, 5, 5], {2, 2, 5, 5} times, then 3 sts [5, 2, 3, 4], {9, 10, 7, 8} times, AT THE SAME TIME inc opposite end in every row [10, 11, 11, 10], {10, 10, 11, 12} times, then every alternate row [4, 5, 6, 8], {10, 11, 11, 11} times [41, 46, 50, 54], {59, 63, 68, 72]sts. Work [11, 13, 15, 19], {25, 29, 33, 37} rows without shaping. Dec at the END of this and every alternate row [1, 3, 3, 3] {3, 3, 4, 3} time/s. Purl 1 row. Cast on 3 sts at beg of next and foll alternate rows [5, 2, 3, 4], {9, 10, 7, 8} times, then 4 sts [3, 6, 6, 6], {3, 3, 6, 6} times, AT THE SAME TIME knit to last 2 sts K2tog on same row, [3, 2, 3, 5], {7, 7, 6, 8} more times, then dec at left hand side of work, every row [10, 11, 11, 10], {10, 10, 11, 12}times, [54, 60, 66, 72], {78, 84, 90, 96} sts. Place marker at each end of this row.

Step 5

Left sleeve
Work the noted amount of rows at ** ending on a purl row. Dec ea end of this and foll [10th, 10th , 8th, 8th], {8th, 8th, 6th, 6th} rows until there are [43, 48, 48, 53], {58, 58, 63, 63} sts. Work [11, 11, 9, 9], {9, 9, 7, 7} rows.

Step 6

Left cuff
Change to 4mm needles, work bands in 4x3 rib as for right cuff.

Increase for bands as follows: Row 1: (K4, inc 1 st by purling into the next stitch of previous row, then purl into main stitch.) rep to last 4 sts, K4 [52, 58, 58, 64], {70, 70, 76, 76} sts.

Row 2: (P4, inc 1 st by knitting into the next st of previous row, knit into main stitch, K1) rep to last 4 sts, P4 [60, 67, 67, 74], {81, 81, 88, 88} sts. Cast off loosely in rib.

Step 7

Make up & front band

Note: Split yarn and use plain yarn for sewing up.

Match and pin sleeves from bands to markers. Sew seam using a backstitch. Using 4mm circular needles, starting from one of the lower back joins, pick up [133, 147, 161, 175], {189, 203, 210, 224} sts evenly around front sleeves sides, back neck and lower back. Place marker at the beg.

Rib: K4, P3 to marker. Continue in rounds of 4 x 3 rib as established for [12, 14, 16, 16], {20, 20, 22, 22} rows. Cast off loosely. Weave in all loose threads.
