Wool used : Moda Vera Marvel 8 ply Skill Level : Easy Needles used : 3.75mm & 3mm Pattern was adapted from a Shepherd leaflet. This was made for my great niece who has an Aussie dad and a Kiwi mum. The band for the body is garter stitch and the bands on the sleeves are K1 P1 rib. The original design called for 4 ply yarn, but as there was no 4 ply in gold, I had to resort to using 8 ply. This will fit a 12-18 month old. I cast on the number of stitches for the 3 month size and made most of the body, then measured the width and found it was equivalent to the 12 month old size, so used those measurements for the length for the body and sleeves. That way, it looks all in proportion. The silver fern motif was purchased from Spotlight and then sewn on, the kangaroo on the right hand side is a button I found at our local sewing shop.
